Verint® Audiolog™ for the Motorola Dimetra TETRA Trunked Radio System

Preface
This document describes the main system components and their interconnection in a two-zone Motorola Dimetra TETRA trunked radio system. The radio system described is a Motorola Dimetra TETRA trunked radio system supporting Motorola Dimetra ATIA Version 5.2. This application note uses two zones as an example, each with one Motorola Gold Elite Gateway (MGEG) connected to an Ambassador Electronics Bank (AEB) with four primary rate E1 trunks.

Since 1994, Verint has been committed to developing innovative solutions that help global organizations achieve their most important objectives. Today, organizations in over 50 countries use Verint solutions to enhance security, boost operational efficiency, and fuel profitability.

The Audiolog Solution
Each zone has an Audiolog™ TLR that taps the 4 primary rate E1 links and receives Air Traffic Information Access (ATIA) events from the Motorola ATIA zone controller. The Audiologs require a direct network connection to the Motorola ATIA Zone Controller. Both Audiologs archive to a Verint Central Archive Server (CAS) that is fitted with dual DVD-RAM archive drives. The CAS can be located at one of the zones or centrally in a secure location. An Ethernet connection is required between the Audiologs and CAS.

Verint Audiolog TLR Specification
The Audiolog TLR system is designed to meet the mission-critical needs of trunked radio users worldwide, providing reliable and cost-effective digital voice recording, storage, and playback.
The TLR system records virtually all call types provided by the radio MGEG–AEB primary rate E1 links: talkgroup, telephone interconnects, half duplex and full duplex private calls. The MGEG–AEB E1 links conform to the ITU G.7031 and G.7042 (E1) 120 ohm (balanced), Linecode HDB3 (High Density Bipolar 3), Lineframing CCS without CRC4. The primary rate E1 timeslot 16 is not used for voice or signaling.
The Audiolog supports voice compression rates down to G.723.1 5.3kb/s as standard. The DVD-RAM archive drive fitted to the CAS supports the two-sided 9.4GB DVD-RAM media, storing a total of 3750 channel hours3. The voice recordings and call details (talkgroup, time, and date) are stored on the same piece of media for added security and resilience. Audiolog supports live monitoring of talkgroups for authorized users.
Verint Multi-Channel Playback Application
Replay is available directly from the Audiologs or remotely from a customer-supplied replay workstation fitted with a soundcard and speakers. Built-in security and administration allow access privileges to be set for supervisors, managers, and users. Calls are quickly sorted for playback by radio ID, talkgroup, or time and date using the Verint multi-channel playback software application. This software application provides silence reconstruction and talking date and time functions, for complete restoration of multi-call scenarios. Multi-channel playback is available at the Audiolog or at a networked client PC workstation fitted with a soundcard and speakers. Call retrieval can be by radio ID, talkgroup, or date and time.
